View from the 13th floor

This is the view from my window. I think it faces northwest, but i'm not sure. I can see the river and mountains from my window. I'll post a photo next time.

Scooters

Everyone rides scooters here. This is me, riding in back of a friend's scooter. They seem pretty dangerous at first, but once you've gotten used to it, it's not bad. Just close your eyes, if you need to.

Sleeping area

This is the little sleeping area. Most nights, I just end up sleeping on the couch downstairs. It's big and comfortable. If you visit, I'll stick you up there. My friends assured me that my apartment is free of ghosts, so the only thing you need to worry about is earthquakes.

This is my little apartment. This is the livingroom, the stairs to go to the sleeping area, the bathroom.

13th floor lounge

I don't know why there's a lounge on each floor. Maybe it's for people waiting for the elevator, or people doing laundry... I've never seen anyone use it.

13th floor hallway

This my floor's hallway. My door is the first one to the right. I've only seen a couple tenants from my floor, and thankfully, they don't try to talk to me.

Elevator Lobby

This is the first floor elevator lobby. I've actually seen a tenant playing the piano once! I've never seen anyone pick up the violin though. The main entrance where the doormen sit are to the left, and the back entrance is to the right.

Back entrance

This is the back entrance to my aparmtnet. There's an automated parking garage that stacks cars in the building to the left. No only is this entrance convenient for walking from the subway, but it also allows me to walk to the elevators without having to pass the doormen. They just think of me as the weird foreigner who can't speak chinese. I think they talk about me when I walk past.

Walking home

On my way home from the subway, I pass through this little park area. It's about 1/2 a block from my apartment. There's a Birkenstock store at the corner. Who knew they were so popular here!

Apartment

This is the view of my apartment from the alley. I live on the 13th floor, facing the river and mountains. The very top of the apartment is a little gym with a nice view of the entire city.
